Dr. Golub, received his undergraduate degree in Biology and History from the State University of New York at Binghamton in Binghamton, NY, followed by a Masters in Public Health from the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health in New York. He received his PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2003 with the topic of Delays in the Diagnosis of Tuberculosis in Maryland and is currently working on several projects in this field.

Dr. Golub worked as the Tuberculosis Epidemiologist at the Maryland State Division of TB Control, Refugee and Migrant Health from 1997 to 2002. He became a Research Associate in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and, since 2004, he has been an Assistant Professor of Medicine with a joint appointment in Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

His primary research focus has been in the epidemiology of tuberculosis, primarily in the context of HIV infection.He has authored or co-authored 15 peer-reviewed publications on tuberculosis. In addition, since 2005, he has been the primary instructor for the Epidemiologic Basis for Tuberculosis Control.
